Prezzies

It's been nearly a month since my last post.Oops...

Anyway, today is the 27th of December, two days after Christmas (I'm good at maths) and I wanted to do a Christmassy post of what I got for Christmas!! I'm not trying to brag but instead give you guys an insight on what I like and also for any nosy readers who might be interested in teenage trends :D So off we goooooo...

Stocking yay!! Waking up to a stocking full of goodies is one of the best parts of Christmas, apart from the dinner of course:P

A canvas Jack Wills bag:) I love Jack Wills and this bag will come very in handy as it goes with lots and is just the right size for my phone and purse.

Oh my goodness I got Real Technique makeup brushes. Eeek. I've wanted these for a while and kept picking them up in Boots, Santa must have seen;)

Hollister body spray has the bestest, most beautiful smell and brings tears of joy to my eyes every time I spray it (Slight exaggeration but it smells flipping good and I definitely recommend you put it on your Christmas list next year, nothing like forward planning.)

The Soap and Glory Sugar Crush range is utterly fantastic. The smell is so sweet yet the lime gives it that extra zingy kick that means this stuff smells like no other, I'm in love with it:)) And the Milly loves a bit of coconut too!

A set of mini craft books that I absolutely ADORE! I might attempt a couple and put them up on here:)

Maybelline The Falsies mascara, eyelash curlers and eyebrow brush!? The Falsies I have been longing for for ages and FINALLY I have it: yay, thanks Santa!! He must have known I always end up borrowing my mum's eyelash curlers and eyebrow brush too:p

Split fringe:/ ignore that.
I have a parka, Horray! This one's from Warehouse if anyone wanted to know:) I like it especially because the fur lining is detachable so going into the warmer spring I can detach it, magic!

And these cute little fingerless gloves/mittens from Accesorize are perfect for the remaining cold winter months. The colours and pattern go with my parka and my scarf which I also got for Christmas! My scarf is a neverending one which I have been wanting as I like wearing two loops like in the picture^ and I love the look a neverending one gives:)

And that's it for present showing today! I'm very grateful and thankful for all of them. Let me know what you got for Christmas in the comments below; I love reading and replying to all of them:)

I hope you all had a very merry and happy Christmas and I guess I'll "see" you in 2014! Be prepared for some fantabulous posts.

Catch up and my Trip to London

Well hello everyone, long time no see! How are you all? Let's grap a cup of tea and have a good catch up about the lack of blogging recently. Also, I thought I'd share with you my trip to London that happened on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Sounds like a good idea, off we go!!

So my last post was nearly a month ago... A MONTH! But no fear, I'm back and bustling with blogging ideas (like the alliteration?)

First of all, the Christmas Cracker Swap me and my blogger friend Rachel were hosting was a massive fail. No comments on our posts, we were extremely disappointed:( The post has been removed now and we may try again next year. Any feedback on why you didn't get involved would be greatly appreciated in the comments below:)

School, music and diving has been taking up a lot of my time recently. What with being in year 10, GCSE coursework has kicked in as well as tonnes of unwanted homework meaning any spare time I have is taken up doing that... How depressing;) Also music rehearsals for upcoming Christmas concerts and diving training means my free blogging day is usually Sunday unless of Homework, competitions or concerts. I hope now you guys understand! :p

So let's get on to a more cheery note of MY SUPER AMAZING TRIP TO LONDON. This happened on Wednesday and Thursday which meant I got to miss 2 whole days of school, YAY :D It was a GCSE music trip for year 9, 10 and 11, we were all very excited on Wednesday morning with our suitcases and comfy shoes. The trip entailed us going on the London Eye, watching the West-End show Charlie and the Chocolate factory and taking part in a London Symphony Orchestra workshop. As well as dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and staying over at a swanky hotel!:)

The 5 hour coach drive seemed to last 5 years. Stupid traffic jams:(( This was turned around when we stopped at the services and I had a Starbucks Frappe, not as good as Costa but I was still a happy bunny;)

Milly with an ie though:(
We finally got to London, horray! I was devastated when we drove past the GIGANTIC Topshop on Oxford Street knowing we didn't have any time on the tight schedule to do some shopping and I love to shop! :p

The London eye was amazing, I'd been on it before so knew the drill but it was still a laugh being so high above the city!

Because the drive took so friggin long we didn't even get chance to change out of our scruffy travelling clothes to go to dinner and the theatre! We were all extremely disappointed, one of my friends who went spent £68 on a special outfit for it, she wasn't happy.

The Rainforest Cafe omg the atmosphere was amazing and the set up of the place is amazing, it even has it's own little special shop on the top floor! It's special trademark was thundering every 30 mins or so, this wasn't good for the non-thunder lovers... We had the choice of Pasta or Burger, most of us, including me chose burger. The food wasn't that super but the huge fish tank in the middle made up for it;)

Then off we went to watch Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, the best show I've ever seen. Charlie was played by a 9 year old who was incredible! The set was by far the best bit, I well and truly recommend this if you want to go and see a fantastic play. It was actually pretty hilarious as well which is always a bonus!

Then it was time for bed... But Big Bang Theory was on at 2:30 in the morning so not much sleep was had.

The next day was the London Symphony Orchestra workshop which consisted of composition and playing of this very unusual instrument which I've forgotten the name of, oops. It was fantastic:D Good
use of adjectives here, I'm starting to run out... Our composition consisted of a cow mooing, it was all very professional :p

Also check me out wearing the same jumper Zoella bought from her Primark hall^^^
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGXgn7UA3vg

Then we got on the coach back home. We stopped at the services and I had a KFC and some mango, no regrets there:)

So there we go, I hope enjoyed and this extra long post made up for the lack of them these last few weeks. Daily bloggers I look up to you!!

Currently I'm... #2

Hello everyone! Back in July I did a "Currently I'm..." post which you can read HERE. I loved letting you guys know what I was doing  so thought I would do another update 4 months later, maybe make this a Miyyi tradition? Who knows, but lets get on with it then shall we! Off we gooooo...

Reading
I've juts read "Running in Heels" by Helen Bailey which I finished whilst sat for a VERRY long time in Tynemouth waiting for my diving competition to begin. It was just a slightly funny book that I got from the library that I knew I could easily get into:) I enjoyed it but not a book that I will buy and add to my bookshelf. Right now I'm reading Hunger Games Catching Fire for about the quadrillianth ( let me know if that's actually a number;)) time ready for the movie which is coming soon, I'm so totally excited!!!!

*excited face*

Watching

Educating Yorkshire! Because I'm a Yorkshire lass in a public school, I could easily relate to everything going on and I just thought it all to be hilarious:') If you haven't been watching it or are in another country, it's where the TV people put cameras all around a school (in Yorkshire) and record all the teachers and students. I'm so sad it's finished:( Of course Great British Bake off (the name says it all) And I nearly forgot the lovely Xfactor, I don't even really like the show but I always get pulled into it every year by my family... Abi Alton and Luke Friend is my favourite so far if any of you were wondering;)

Listening To
Arctic Monkey's new album AM has been played non stop recently aswell as a spot of Greenday and Jake Bugg!
Drinking
Even though it's getting pretty nippy here in England I've still been drinking Costa Creamy Coolers. Don't Judge. The winter coming closer and closer means that hot chocolate has been on the menu aswell as warmed-in-the-microwave apple juice!

Loving
FIREWORKS! I went to a bonfire yesterday at Thornes Park in Wakefield and even though it was cold and chucking it down with rain, I really enjoyed it! I definitely love fireworks :-D

Enjoying
Lip balms, hand-creams and spending time with friends:) I have the pinkpunch and mint fresh Maybelline BabyLips that I have been using lots these past few weeks, I keep the mint one in my blazer pocket;) Also my bodyshop hemp hand-cream that is so totally amazeballs has been a must as I get really dry hands in winter

Learning
Too muchhh:( Coursework has finally kicked in for us year 10s which means lots of homework and lots of learning.
Wearing
Jumpers, cardigans and onesies. I haven't grown since last winter, this means all of my lovely jumpers still fit me AND I have some money to go and buy more, yay for not growing! I also have my trusty onesie and I bought a lovely open cardigan yesterday that I know I'll get a lot of where out of!

So there we are:) Hope everyone enjoyed that and now you all know what I'm up to, not creepy at all;) Have any of you guys got Maybelline BabyLips? What are you wearing this winter? Do you think 4 months is a good gap between each "Currently I'm" post? Let me know in the comments!

Also me and Rachel are hosting an exciting Christmassy themed bundle of excitement which we will be revealing this Wednesday so keep tuned for that:)

Finally the firework photo is thanks to John Cartwright:

MUA "Undress Me Too" Eye Palette Review!

So today  I've decided to go all beauty on you, bet you weren't expecting that! Because I was in a beauty post mood and Miyyi is a VERY diverse topic blog, I thought that a lovely review of the MUA eye shadow palette "Undress Me Too" would be a great idea. Just to put it out there I am by no means at all ever a make-up expert, ever. But no matter! We will plod on anyway with the knowledge that this is not a professional review. Ok, glad we got that cleared up, off we go!:)

I cannot actually believe how cheap MUA palettes are. I picked this "Undress Me Too" one up from SuperDrug at £3.99 after looking online at th MUA website and the same palette being out of stock:( But no matter, I went through the checkout and it was mine:)

I think the packaging is very sleek and looks simple yet sophisticated. I do think the packaging reflects the price but it was always going to, it doesn't look like a stupidly expensive palette, but I like that! It's the right size for your handbag and shows you all the colours at a glance,  which lots of eye-shadow palettes do not. I can imagine the packaging getting a bit eye-shadow dusty but so far so good, I like the design a lot! It even comes with a little foam dabber brushy thing which I use for doing the inner highlight:p

The eyeshadows are really easy to blend and generally stay on for quite a while, even without a primer. This is great if you're going out for a few hours as you don't have to bring the palette with you:)

Some of the colours are more pigmented from others. The shimmery ones are all incredibly pigmented but some of the matte colours, for instance "Lavish", are not so and can look a bit chalky at times. I still love wearing them though, especially when doing a smoky eye, "Corrupt" works perfectly! I think the colours are very Autumnal and I can tell I'm going to be wearing them a lot this season:)

So there you have it, a beauty review, exciting times! Let me know what you thought in the comments below aswell as telling me your experiences with the MUA palette and how you like to wear your eyeshadow:)

When my Cat Fell Out of My Bedroom Window

Today I thought I'd share with you a true story about my cat Tinka falling out of my second story bedroom window. So off we go!

Tinka as a kitten:*
Let us start with some background information about Tinka: She is a semi feral rescue cat who is now 4 years old and VERY naughty. She is vicious hunter that all the neighbourhood cats are scared of and she loves a good cuddle with her wonderful owner Milly;)

Tinka went through a stage of loving to balance on the outside part of the windowsill, this was only on the first floor windows so no worries there.

Being a daredevilish cat, Tinka decided to try this trick on the outside of my bedroom window, 2 stories up... This is a good point to note that Tinka was also a very clumsy cat, not a good combination.

My mum was downstairs on the computer doing some work in the room which is directly underneath my bedroom with a window facing in the same direction. All of a sudden she sees this flash looking unusually a cat shaped and then an almighty thud. Outside she went to find a Tinka shaking herself off and looking a bit dazed. "Oh dear" she thought (obviously). My mum watched her for a while to make sure the poor cat wasn't injured and then off Tinka skipped to go and chase some butterflies.

The next day, Tinka got stung by a bee in the paw (I said she was clumsy). This resulted in a trip to the vets in which Tinka was treated for her pawly paw (see what I did there?) and then diagnosed with mild concussion. "Oh dear" we thought (obviously).

This whole disaster story has taught us all that if your cat or any other animal for that matter falls out of a second story window, whip them to the vets to double check they're ok;)

Hope you all enjoyed that little tale!:)

I mustn't leave our other cats out so here's some cute pictures of them...

Here is Blackie, my mum's cat who's 16 now:O Old photo alert!
This adorable photo of my sister's cat Lola when she was a kitten:*
And finally Tinka and Lola together, aww!

So there you go! Such fun;)
Do any of you guys have cats? Any funny or cute stories you can tell me in the comments, I'd love to hear them! If no cats then have you got any other pets?

I've Finally Read 'The Fault in our Stars'!

Miyyi is not at heart a book blog, but a 'whatever I want to blog about blog'. So today I thought I'd blog about The Fault in Ours Stars, which everyone has been raving about and which I've only just got round to reading. So off we go!

I had expectations for this book that I'd gathered from book bloggers and general chit chat, I knew this was going to be good. I started reading it knowing it might be a love story full of humour and metaphores, but maybe most of all, I knew this might be a very sad book indeed.

This is a book about cancer, but I don't think it feels like a depressing tragedy, instead, it shows you that even if you're ill, it doesn't stop you doing the things you love and being happy. In a way, this book can be viewed in a positive and happy light.

The characters are very memorable for there own unique personality and little quirks that are so original and make you laugh and cry. My favourite character of course was Augustus. I think this is because of his metaphoric cigarette that just made me laugh when he first mentioned it;)

The love story I thought was very cleverly done indeed with the way they met and how they were around each other being a teenagers love dream;) However, ultimately, I thought this story was a tale of friendship which shows that as long as you have that one special person, everything will be ok...

I agree that this book is very sad, but surprisingly, I didn't cry. I put this down to John Green not ringing out the sad parts for too long, this shows the sadness but doesn't focus on it making it unbearable and making me sob. I liked that:)

All in all I really enjoyed the balance of the emotions in this book. The happy parts were happy and the sad parts were sad, but both things weren't too over the top.

So yeah, a short book thinking review type sort of thing. What did you think? When did you read 'The Fault in our Stars'? Let me know in the comments:)

Back To School Haul

Next week I'm going into year 10, eek. To prepare, I went school shopping. Being a 14 year old girl, I enjoyed this very much indeed! So today I thought I'd share with you what I splashed my cash on, off we go!

The first thing I bought was a cute fish pencil sharpener from Wilkinsons that probably cost no more than 50p, who knows if it'll be any good but it's wiggly eyes forced me to buy it, plus, it's pink!

The next exciting item I purchased was a pink (what a surprise) pencil case, which has monster teeth and yellow eyes. I bought this from WHSmith for around £4.50 and just love it's quirky and unique style which again drew me to buy it. It's not amazingly large but it'll do the job of looking after my pens and pencils with the blank back meaning friends can draw all over it. So enjoy the cleanliness and plainness of it now because by the end of the year, it will be a coloured in mess.

Next, I went into one of my favourite shops: Primark to buy some black pumps for school. These shoes I will probably wear on days where I'm doing PE as I have a tendency to leave my shoes in the changing rooms and lose them forever. Because of this, £4.00 ballet pumps from Primark are usually a good idea as I can go and buy some more without too much hassle:))

Finally, I bought my school bag for throughout the year from New Look for £20.00 which I thought was a bargain! It's a florally print backpack which I think is perfect for school as it's just the right size to fit all of my books and folders in and doesn't hurt your back to carry around which I find regular shoulder bags do. Also a friend last year had a New Look bag similar to this one which lasted the whole year, so the durability is pretty good!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! I've never done a haul post before so let me know what you thought of it in the comments below! When do you go back to school? What bag have you got?

SRSChallenge- Paragraph From POV of my Favourite Character...

Hey Everyone! Today I'm carrying on with the #SRSChallenge that Cat and Charli are hosting by attempting to write a paragraph from the point of view of my favourite book character, drum roll please: Lola, from Lauren Child's children's book series, Charlie and Lola! Horray!:D

I'm going to write about Lola being aloud to choose one small animal from a pet shop with her brother Charlie along with a cage and some treats and toys. Off we go...

Eeek, I'm so absolutely and completely EXCITED Charlie, how can I choose just one pet, they are all so cute and fluffy. Look at this rabbit, oh, and this small hamster, CHARLIE I bet if I asked mum reaaally nicely she'll let me have at least two pets. I can say they all fell asleep on my lap and now I can't possibly move without getting them! No Charlie we are not ever never getting a snake or a spider or a lizard, they are too slimy and too scary for me. Ooooh what about a Chinchilla, yes a chinchilla,  aww Charlie look that is definitely 100% what I want pleease, is that good? But which one?! This is too hard Charlie, do I want that white one or that grey one, oh wait look at that tiny black one, I will call her Loli and she'll be my best friend, after Lotta of course! Yay, I love her Charlie, now lets find a cage. Ooooh look at that big one with the slide, look Charlie it has a SLIDE a SLIDE!! We have to have that one, I bet Loli would love to have a slide. That was easy. Now for treats, I wonder what Loli will like, oh, I know Charlie, PINK MILK! Can you buy pink milk at pet stores? Ohh, we'll just have to give her some raisins. I'm so completely and utterly happy with my new pet. Can we take her home now?

Loli;)
So that was it! Sorry if that didn't make any sense non-Charlie and Lola fans... But it was super fun to write:D

The next part of the Summer Reading Smackdown is to read and review a recommended book, so my question for you to answer in the comments is: Have you got any recommended books for me to read? Please let me know as I need to start reading it asap before the challenge finishes next Wednesday the 21st:)

Are any of you guys taking part in this reading challenge? Have you got a pet Chinchilla?!

Rubber Collection!?

Hey everyone! This week I did have another musical post planned but my laptop couldn't handle all of the photos and videos:( But don't fear! We have today a lovely collection post install for you to enjoy, so off we go, my rubber collection...:D

I've been collecting rubbers for around 6 years. Everywhere I go, when in the giftshop, I always buy one. Unfortunately, rubbers seem to be a very British souvenir, whenever looking abroad for them, I have no luck, apart from when I went to Amsterdam.

My favourite rubbers are above^  The stripy rainbow one says "Sunlight Is Made Of All The Colours Of The Rainbow" and I just think that's really cute. The pig, what can I say about the pig? It's face just makes me laugh, that's about it. I love seahorses, that's why this seahorse is one of my favourites. Finally Van-Gogh's face just brings back memories of a family trip to Amsterdam, I also get jealous of his hat...

My least favourite rubber is this Thackray museum one as I remember hating the foul smell of the realistic museum and ending up running through the rooms holding my nose. The rubber's ok I guess, just the smelly museum.

Well, at least I posted something!

Let me know if you enjoyed! What do you guys collect?

Currently I'm...

Hi everyone! Today I thought I'd try the "currently I'm..." tag sort of thing. I got this from a lovely blogger called Cat who you can check out  here. I think it's a really cute, fun idea and means I can share with you guys what I'm doing at the moment! So off we go...

Taken a few months ago but thought this post needed some pictures:D
Reading
I'm currently reading Bill Brysons autobiography. No particular reason other than it was on the bookshelf, and I hadn't read it. I've nearly finished the book and I can say it's probably one of the best autobiography's out there. I think it's just the page turning humour that does it for me but his writing style means not only does it appeal to adults, but teenagers as well. I've also been loving Eva Ibbotson's Dragonfly Pool, it's just an amazing book about a girl going off to boarding school. Put it on your read list, it's great!

Watching
At the moment I'm watching an old series called Daria. It's an Ameriacan teenage cartoon about this very sarcastic girl in high school, it's super funny. I got into it from Netflix after just finishing IT crowd ( a brilliantly British comedy) and I needed a new series to watch. Definitely check it out, I've never heard about it before or know anyone who watches it so let me know in the comments below if any of you guys have ever seen it.

Listening To
Treasure by Bruno Mars and Dear Darlin' by Olly Murs. Loving both of those songs at the moment!

Drinking
McDonalds Mango and Pineapple smoothies! Seriously, I think these are delicious, I'd much rather have a smoothie or glass of juice than a can of Coke in this hot weather:)

Loving
My new hair colour! I dyed my hair a mahogany colour a few days ago and I'm in love with it. I was a bit precarious at first as I was unsure about how it would come out on my natural dark brown hair. So I got a 28 washes dye and hoped for the best:) and horray, it all went well and I've found love with the colour.

Enjoying
Painting my nails. Every day it seems I'm painting them a different colour since it's the summer, I don't know, I think I'm going through a phase of pastelly, vibranty colours at the moment. Right now I have a lovely mint colour on them and on my toes I have a bright blue.

Learning
Well it's the summer holidays so no school means not much learning;) But a disastrous trip to the beach taught me that there are poisonous fish in the sea called weaver fish that sting you if you stand on them (from my sister stepping on one). Hmm what else... Oh and to not try and run in flip flops.

Wearing
Different coloured checked shirts, it's summer! I'm going through another phase, a shirt phase... I've always liked them but it seems this summer that my wardrobe is full of checks! It could be the fact that they're so cheap at Primark or it could be that I just fancy myself as a little farmer girl (sorry for the stereotype). Whatever it is, that's what I'm wearing.

Hope you guys enjoyed that:) I might make this a monthly feature, opinions? Let me know what you're up to in the comments below.
